Haiku

The Haiku Year I love the idea of this book which I bought at Waterstones last year. 6 friends wrote each other haiku (small poems) for a year & published the best of them here. This is an interactive site where you can not only buy the book, but read haiku from all over the world and post your own.

The Heron's Nest A very nice site about Haiku, linked to a US paper journal. It's got a good list of haiku - related links.

Jack Kerouac's Haiku Page dedicated to Kerouac's Haiku poetry.

Jan's 'Beat' links

Kerouac's Belief & Technique for Modern Prose & Essentials of  Spontaneous Prose

Resources and info on Kerouac

The Beat Page Updated news, features and archives. Features a good list of other Beat pages. No bibliography though.

Beat Generation News Same kind of thing but different. The links page has a good list of links to current publications. Lists works by each writer

Cosmic Baseball AssociationMany beat writers feature here - in fact they have their own team (it's a fantasy baseball league). Informative as well as a bit weird. Jack Kerouac plays Left field for the Beats. Click on Players - Index of cosmic Player Plates - Jack Kerouac 1998 (which has a good chronology).

Beat Generation Catalog Online shop dedicated to Beat stuff

City Lights Bookstore The San Francisco bookstore specialising in Beat literature etc..

Empty Mirror Books - Another US bookshop specialising in Beat literature. I like this one because it has a special pamphlets section .

Literary Kicks - the site with the bibliography (which seems to be lacking on the other sites) by  Sherri Hoffman-Hoye. An excellent site for all things Beat.
